Charging Equipment Costs
The costs for buying and installing charging equipment will vary depending on the charging equipment you select, the permitting fees for your area and the configuration of your home. Remember that incentives may be available to help offset the cost of home charging equipment and installation.
Level 1 (120-volt)
Level 1 home charging simply requires access to a standard household outlet (with available capacity). A Level 1 portable charging device is standard equipment sold with a new PEV.
Level 2 (240-volt)
Level 2 charging equipment requires that you buy and install Level 2 equipment, which together cost around $1,500 for a typical California household.
